The Wall Street Journal: ‘no shortage of ideas or engineering talent in Stockholm’
This week, WJSE Tech Europe’s tour of ”Europe’s tech hot spots” landed in Stockholm. WSJE reporter Ben Rooney met with several local internet entrepreneurs and VC’s to talk about Stockholm as a tech hot spot. Based on his visit, there is now a couple of great articles posted on the WSJE web site and blog. Below are highlights and extracts from the articles and videos:
Here is the WJSE’s video interview with GP Bullhound’s Per Roman, where he speaks about the local entrepreneurial culture and its global mindset, the local talent, capital pools, testbed opportunities, and the importance of very good broadband access:
Ben Rooney met with many local entrepreneurs, of which several got the chance to pitch their companies to the WSJE readership in this article: “Tech Europe’s Pick of Stockholm’s Start-Ups”
Finally, in the latter article/video reportage, Ben Rooney conludes that there is ”no shortage of ideas or enginering talent” in Stockholm. “Sweden’s tax may prove something of a problem for some startups”.” However, the reporter adds, Stockholm has a very supportive community.
It seems that Stockholm’s thriving internet scene has again caught the eyes of international media. Stockholm’s internet community – and its entrepreneurs as well as talented employees – well deserves it!
