One of the World´s Leading ICT Clusters
Europe’s leading ICT cluster -- Kista Science City -- lies in Stockholm. A close relationship between private enterprise, research and academia has made Kista Science City one of Stockholm’s most important growth regions. Today, the area hosts more than 1000 ICT companies that combined employ around 25,000 people.
Kista Science City has made the Stockholm Region an international centre for wireless technology, broadband and mobile applications and services. The region is home to many innovative and leading international companies. There are more ICT companies, employees and researchers in this small area than anywhere else in Sweden.
The cluster also has two international academic institutions – The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Stockholm University. Academia, private enterprise and the public sector collaborate in Kista Science City -- a partnership that benefits all parties and promotes development in the region.
Kistamässan (Kista Fair) opened in September 2008, and offers around 15,000 square meters of exhibition space and conference facilities for up to 4,500 people. The exhibitions and conferences at Kistamässan are a hub and meeting place for the Stockholm ICT community.
Digital Art Center (DAC) is a public center and a collaborative project highlighting the interaction between art/creativity and new technology. The goal is to promote local and regional growth.
It is an arena of exhibitions, creative works and meetings; showing the positive effects arising from the combination of art, digital technology, science and culture in a concrete way. DAC is sponsored by Stockholm University, Interactive Institute, Atrium Ljungberg, Kista Science City, IT-gymnasiet, City of Stockholm, and ICT Research AB.
